One in Faith

In Ephesians 5:22-33, the Apostle Paul compares the union of a husband and wife to the union between Jesus Christ and the church. Just as a husband and a wife are one flesh, so the church is to be one body.  Yet it is the very beliefs within the church that divide it. Issues such as universalism, God will save all people. Politically, the Christian church is divided on the issue of homosexuality. It is surprising how much evolution is a dividing issue in the church. And there are arguments over who should be leaders within the church, or how much training pastors need?

Probably the internet has been most honest in revealing who we really are. We are a people with a lust for self-significance, driven by a desire for power. That is the singular motive behind all that Satan is and does.

Yet we are told that we are to be one body, one people with varying parts and roles. That unity can only begin in the heart.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Ezekiel 36: 26-27

Christians dwell together in faith. At the time of the fall, the human mind became corrupted and unreliable. Faith has since been imputed through the power of the Holy Spirit to make us one.
